Favorite Talks / Books on the Atonement

Hi everyone,

I'm supposed to speak in sacrament meeting in 3 weeks. My topic is: The atonement gives us strength to bear our burdens and accomplish our tasks (Matt 11:28).

Does anyone have any favorite talks / books on the subject? My favorite is Elder Bednar's "In the Strength of the Lord," but I referred very heavily to it the last time I spoke in sacrament meeting--just 4 months ago.

Thanks for any insights!

  1. Check out face-to-face at the 1 hr. mark. Pres. Eyring clarifies that the Atonement is not a "thing." Interesting insight. It's not the Atonement that forgives, etc. It is something that the Savior did that then allows Him to help us. Hence, the enabling power of the Atonement is the enabling power of Christ made possible through the great sacrifice He made. Worth a watch.
